DSC or Digital Signature Certificate is just like physical signature but these are in electronic format. These are used in India for online transactions such as Filing Annual Return, Company or LLP Incorporation, Income Tax E-Filing, E-Tenders & many more other online transactions.

Types of Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) are the digital equivalent (that is electronic format) of physical or paper certificates.

  • Class I Digital Signatures: These are used for email Communications.
  • Class II Digital Signatures: These are commonly used for ITR filing, Co. registration, Obtaining DIN & for other legal Compliance’s.
  • ClassIII Digital Signature: These are used at the time of participation in E- Auction & also for E-tendering.

Why one should obtain Digital Signature

  • Validity of DSC is for 2 years & they can be renewed once their original validity expires.
  • These can be secured in USB flash Drive commonly known as USB Token.
  • These are used at time of filing return, Company registration, obtaining director identification number & in many more online transactions.
  • These are also used for E-tendering & E-Auctions also.

Documents Required for Obtaining DSC

The registration in GST is PAN based and State specific.

  • One Passport Size photograph.
  • Self-Attested Copy of PAN Card.
  • Self-Attested copy of Aadhar Card.
